This is Inveraray and District Pipe Band under Pipe Major Stuart Liddell winning the Grade One Pipe Band British Championship at Paisley on 21 May 2016.
This was a medley competition and the band’s medley was:
Ceilidh Lines, An Cota Ruadh, The Islay Ball, Jig of Slurs, Skye, She Moved through the Fair, John Morrison of Assynt House, and Alick C. MacGregor.
As the competition field was adjacent to a major international airport (as well as probably the busiest motorway intersection in Scotland) the sight and sound of aircraft taking off was an important feature of the day, and was an audible part of most bands’ performances. In Inveraray’s case the aircraft taking off during its performance is to be commended on its impeccable tuning.
